Gold and Cork bloghop with Tombow and DCWV

Image
Hello and Welcome to the Gold and Cork Blog Hop with Tombow USA and DCWV ! We have 2 days full with gorgeous projects using GOLD and CORK! You probably came here from  Marie Browning's blog  but if you happened to stumble across my blog go to the DCWV Blog to start! Thanks for joining us today, hope you find some inspiration and new ways to use your supplies.  I made a mini book using the kraft mini album from the DCWV Insta Photo Fun line. Then, I decorated the cover with a washi tape frame and die cuts from the DCWV memory book 'Brights.' (There are awesome shaped vellum stickers in the memory book!)   I added the gold on the owl and the frame. Here's how I did that:  (If you're a fan of tombow, you may have seen my post about this technique on their facebook page a few weeks ago) I dabbed Tombow mono liquid glue on all the spots I wanted to make golden. I just used the pen tip applicator. The glue stays tacky when dry, so i

Development=change over time

...and wow, there have been tons of changes around here in the last 6 months!  You know that line in the fresh prince of Bel-Air?  'My life got flipped-turned upside down...' That's how I felt when I had a baby. It's been 6 months now and I've found a new routine and a new rhythm in life. This is me and baby 2 weeks in, trying to find our new rhythm... I used the new DIY project stacks from DCVW out at Joann and little bit of my Pink Fresh studio embellishment kit. I inked the edges of the butterflies with gold ink and it gave them a little something that made them pop a little more. Looks like triangles are very on trend, huh? Are you liking the triangle trend? Thanks for stopping by! View blog post for supplies

Hello Seaside Yacht

Image
DCWV included printed linen in their Seaside Yacht stack and I had a new set of watercolors.... I thought these navy anchors would look great with a wash of color.  I made a card using the cut apart sheet and a red page that would contrast with all the blue. I love how the pink watercolor softened up the look of this card.  Here are some other colors I tried:  These would make great bases for cards too. The linen can really take the watercolor! How do you feel about the watercolor trend?

Best Day Shadow box

Here's what was on my little decoration table until recently...yup! snowman from the DCWV Christmas Creations stack. Well, here in Los Angeles, Ca, we're closer to spring...or summer than we are to winter. So time for new decor! I'm using this new DCWV 8x8 shadow box you can find at Joann. They have an  unfinished wood frame and look great just as they are but it's so easy to customize their look. Inside, there is PLENTY of room for 3D elements.  I used the new project stacks to decorate the inside. You can find these stacks at Joann stores.   The plain shadowbox looks beautiful as it is!  However, it was going to blend in with the color of my wall, so I decided to paint it. Here's some photos of the process:  These are from the Birds and Butterflies Project stack.  I used  scor-tape  on the body of the butterflies to attach them and folded up the wings to give them dimension. The background is from the Stencils Project st

March Stack-a-holic Challenge

 Hey Stack-a-holics! Here's the DCWV stack-a-holic challenge for March. I journaled around the edge of the LO but I'm a fan of hidden journaling too:  And here's my card: Yolie and Tessa from our DT designed these fabulous sketches:  What's your take on these?
