Frameable Quotes

Image
Hello!  This time I have something different to show you :) I used the new Frameable Quotes stacks, which are available at Michael's. That wall and shelf in my bedroom were both empty, so I decided  to give it some color. It's on my husband's side of the bed, so I thought it needed something sweet for him to see in the morning. The banner plaque and heart are also from Michael's, although they might be in the clearance section now.  The banner plaque and long quote are being held on by stikki clips, which I think are brilliant for holding paper to the wall without damaging it. I got the pretty frame in one of Michel's $2 bags with a few other things. I know! It was such a great deal!   I'm really enjoying the frameable quotes and have been making layouts and cards with them as well.  I love how versatile these are!

Under the stars

Ok... so it's a good thing that there's no scrapbooking police because I liked this photo so much, I've scrapbooked it twice! This time I used my Nuvo embellishment mousse and a home made star stencil. I rarely use stars, so I didn't want to buy a stencil. I cut this out on my Scan n Cut using a sheet of the DCWV Whiteboard stack.  The paper is from the lodge stack. I love the result! How cute is the little owl?! I made it using a mod podge melt. Hope you're having an awesome day!

Painted Backgrounds: Explore the beach

Image
Hello! Are you loving the summer weather?  I am...Whenever it's not ridiculously hot! Today, I have a layout about my baby's first time building sand castles at the beach.  This layout is a first in a series of layouts with painted backgrounds, which I'm excited to share with you all! For this one, I used the  DCWV Coastal stack, which you can find at AC Moore. It has great textures with pearl foil and some linen pages. The first thing I did was add more color to my background.  I used distress stain, water and Heidi Swapp color shine in sea foam. I put each color on a piece of plastic packaging and smooshed it on the diagonal along the background. I liked so many of the patterns in the stack, I decided to cut strips of my favorites and punch some of them with my Fiskars scallop edge punch. The dark blue scallops are linen so I cut those by hand. I also backed the photos with the 6x6 Kraft and Gold stack. Have you seen this one? It's so pretty! O

In with the old: Rub ons

Image
In an effort to use up old supplies, I'm digging way, WAY, deep into my stash.  This time, it's my OLD rub-ons. Surprisingly, they worked so well!  I had several photos of our time in Belgium that I really wanted to scrap. There is one more photo behind each of the top 2 photos. I really like hiding photos and journaling when I want to scrap a messy/busy page.  I started with the DCWV 12x12 Vintage essentails paper and collaged it on to a white cardstock. Then I used the entire pack of rub-ons and added some white paint and watercolor splashes over it. When all was dry, I inked the edges.  I layered some vellum under the photos, I love that little detail peeking out behind the photos.  The bottom picture is a lovely little second hand store we found while exploring Bruges and we bought several unique items there.  A few days after I made this layout, I noticed I made a mistake. The top photo is actually Tallinn, Estonia, Hahaha! oops! I'm gonna leav
